Hi, I’m Rochelle, co-founder and Therapist at Resiliency House Counseling, where we are committed to helping you unearth and develop your strengths as a central part of your wellness journey. As a registered social worker with a wide range of experience in mental health, I understand that healing begins from a place of hope. A place where you are empowered to learn strategies to transform negative perspectives and life experiences.
With over 7 years of clinical experience working with youth and adults, I prioritize using evidence-based approaches while emphasizing warmth, and emotional safety. My experience includes working in high-risk mental health settings, community mental health and addictions, developmental/disability services, and supporting youth in the justice system. My other areas of
specialization include stress management, lifespan transitions, workplace stress/burnout, grief and loss, anger management, family therapy, ADHD and autism.
My practice approach is built on, but not limited to the following areas: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Trauma Focused Interventions, Interpersonal Therapy, Applied Behavioural Analysis, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. My main approach utilizes (CBT) which I am certified in to treat depression and other mood and anxiety disorders.
Additionally, I am experienced in using Motivational Enhancement Therapy and CBT to work with adolescents who struggle with substance misuse.
Adopting an approach that considers your unique life experiences and cultural background is fundamental in my work, as I support you in managing complex emotions that are often associated with challenging life events. You can trust that your experiences will be honored in a safe, non-judgmental space. As a Christian counselor my practice is founded on faith-based values and principles. Together, we can explore how Biblical principles as well as other therapeutic approaches can help in emotional healing and breaking unhelpful patterns.
